Ghanaian hiplife sensation King Paluta tells a picturesque story of true love in the African way of life. This infectious record combines the best of Ghanaian hiplife, Hi-life and contemporary Afrobeats.

Directed by SOJ, this video brings the song to life with stunning visuals filmed in Ghana.

The official video for the remix of “Ogechi,” the hit track by BoyPee, Hyce, and Brown Joel featuring Davido, has dropped. Produced by Adeola Omooba, the video brings the song’s lyrics to life.

The song itself is a declaration of love, with the artists vying for the affection of a woman named Ogechi. They shower her with compliments and promises of commitment, all while facing whispers of doubt.

Directed by Dammy Twitch, the video unfolds in a picturesque village setting. The scene opens with a town crier’s announcement – the king’s sons have returned, and a royal bride selection is imminent. Singer-songwriter Teni releases the co-directed visual for “Young Black Girl From Africa” (YBGFA), a track off her sophomore album, “Tears Of The Sun,” released in 2023.

Teni describes the song’s creation as an A-Z freestyle, aiming to create a universal anthem of empowerment. “I just wanted a song [in which] everyone could feel free, regardless of what they’re going through, regardless of where they are in their life, regardless of how hard things are, or how much you feel like nobody gets you or nobody understands. she says. “Regardless of who you are, just know you’re valid, and freedom starts with you, it’s all you. It’s never about your oppressors. Your oppressors will never give you freedom willingly, you have to take it too. That’s what the song is about, taking your freedom.”

Angeloh – “Love Child”

In 2023, Angeloh released not just an album, but a celebration of love! “Love Child” is a 7-track that talks about love in its truest form – new love, weddings, romantic getaways – and all the sweetness that comes with it. It has a deluxe version featuring collaborations with other gospel greats like Greatman Takit, Gaise Baba, Ko’rale, and soul singer, Waje. Since 2019, Angeloh has been making love songs inspired by the twists and turns of his love life: from being single to finding the one, getting married, and navigating fatherhood as a young man.

Bonus… Sola Allyson – Ife Eji Owuro

We couldn’t resist including a timeless classic! Sola Allyson‘s “Ife Eji Owuro” (meaning “Morning Love”) is a beautiful and enduring love song that continues to resonate with listeners today. The song “Eji Òwúrò” first appeared in 2003 as part of the soundtrack for a Bimbo Oshin movie of the same name. It was later revamped in 2009 with production by Cobhams Asuquo and mixing by Olaitan Dada of Natialo Productions.

In the video for “Away,” Davido reaps the fruits of his later. As one of the biggest names in Afrofusion, he has certainly earned the right to party. Throughout the clip, Davido flies across the world in private jets and parties at some of the most lavish clubs.

Afrofusion and Afrobeats music has seen a boom across the world, with several artists within the realm dominating streaming charts. In an interview with Ebony, Davido credited the spread of Afrofusion to social media. And through it all, he has his team and his day ones by his side.

“We have social media now and it’s easier to find stuff,” said Davido. “It’s easier to connect the two cultures. The two cultures are the Western culture and African culture. So I feel like Afrobeat is that bridge right now that’s really bridging the gap between the two cultures and bringing both cultures together.”
