“Wahala” is a song about the allure and challenges of a captivating woman. The lyrics express admiration for the woman’s beauty and dance moves, while also acknowledging the potential complications (wahala) that come with being attracted to someone so desirable.

Popular Nigerian singer, Adekunle Gold, has taken to social media to appreciate rapper Olamide for accepting him into the YBNL music label.

Olamide launched the record label in 2012 after the release of his second studio album, ‘YBNL’.

Adekunle Gold, on the other hand, was signed to YBNL in 2015 and delivered his first album titled ‘Gold’.

He later exited the record label after the expiration of his contract.

However, sharing a cover of his debut album on X on Friday, Adekunle thanked Olamide for his role in his career growth.

“Thank you @olamide for giving that young graphic designer the chance to not only design the YBNL logo but to be a part of your family.”

British dancehall/rap artist Stefflon Don and Nigerian Afrobeats singer-songwriter Adekunle Gold join forces on the simmering new track “Different Sides.” The song creates a perfect soundtrack for a romantic evening.

The Basketball Africa League (BAL) (https://BAL.NBA.com) today announced the lineup of artists and entertainers who will headline the entertainment at the BK Arena when the BAL Playoffs & Finals tips off on May 24 in Kigali, Rwanda. Nigerian global superstar Adekunle Gold will grace the stage alongside some of Rwanda’s hit makers including The Ben, Juno Kizigenza, Alyn Sano, Chris Eazy and more!

Fan Zone
The Fan Zone, situated at BK Arena parking lot, will be open to fans on game days from 2:00 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. CAT and during weekends from 3 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. CAT.

The Fan Zone will offer a range of activities for both the young and adults, including 3-on-3 basketball games, food trucks, a photo booth, and music by DJ Loft and DJ Kim.

In-Arena Entertainment
The Playoffs & Finals fan in-arena experience will feature pre-game and halftime performances by music artists, dancers, drummers, and dunk teams.  Fans can expect some of the biggest Rwandan artists on stage and curated music experience from some of the city’s hottest such as DJ Sonia & Hottempah Collective and an international DJ, Fully Focus (Kenya).

Starting May 24, every game will showcase diverse performers catering to all age groups; Adekunle Gold, Juno Kizigenza, Alyn Sano & Chris Eazy will perform during the opening weekend.  Kivumbi King, Ariel Wayz & The Ben will close the Finals with halftime performances during the closing weekend May 31 – June 1, 2024.

ENTERTAINMENT SCHEDULE:

Adekunle Gold is ringing in the year with some movie soundtrack magic. His first release of 2024 comes as a single on the soundtrack to the Jay-Z-produced film The Book of Clarence.

Gold joins American rappers Doja Cat and Kodak Black on the album’s third track, “Jeezu.” Sharing the news with his fans on X (formerly Twitter) the Tequila Ever After crooner said, “Dekunle x Doja Cat x Kodak Black this friday! ????????.” Fellow Nigerian superstar Yemi Alade is also featured on the soundtrack with the single “Sacred Love,” performing alongside the film’s director, Jeymes Samuel.

Excitement for Gold’s latest release ensued as one X follower stated, “This is the most random link-up in Afrobeats ever!” And they’re not wrong as this would be the first time his American collaborators entered Afrobeats. Speaking to the globalized nature of the film’s soundtrack, Gold said on his Instagram last month, “It’s great to see such incredible representation in a first-of-its-kind film.” In his tweet, Gold also posted behind-the-scenes footage of his time in the studio recording his vocals for director Samuel.

Gold’s raspy tone introduces the musical cry for salvation, as Jeezu manifests as bass-heavy and suspenseful. “Jeezu, protect my soul, wash my sins, and let me fly,” the Nigerian singer expresses in the introduction and repeated chorus. His unique voice makes the perfect addition to the intense rap tune, highlighting his journey vocally.

Other notable names on the track list include Jamaican star Buju Banton, British songstress Jorja Smith, and American rapper Lil Wayne.
