Apart from serving patrons with poetry, ‘The Matriarch’s Verse’ by Apiorkor will also feature some amazing musicians at the second edition of her poetry event

There will be live interaction with poetry lovers, art enthusiasts, academics, socialites, opinion leaders, ex-pats living in Ghana, and the public, while the poetic matriarch, Apiorkor interrogates the aftermath that has followed the very moment ‘When the Person Who is Called COVID Came.’

Akwaboah, Cina Soul, Abiana, Bogo Blay and Bentuma and the Great Heritage Dance Ensemble will be performing at the programme on Friday, 26th November 2021, at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City in Accra.

Other poets performing alongside Apiorkor are Hondred Percent, Akambo and Chief Moomen. Apiorkor’s poetry concert remains Ghana’s largest independently organised poetry event.

The programme will be held at 8:00pm on November 26, 2021. Tickets are selling at GH¢150 for Standard and GH¢200 for VIP.

The maiden edition which was held at Alliance Francaise on Friday, had over 20 exhibitors showing their work of paintings & woodcraft as well as Sculpting & graffiti.  Some of the notable artists included, Andrew Tettey Arko, Edward Buxton, Midichi, Shika Odamtten, Bright Ackwerh, Hanson Akati, Majoree, Michael Bledo, Creamy Artwork, Enoch Fordjour, art students from Roman Ridge Amongst others.

The musical concert later that evening was definitely the highlight of the night. Opening acts Keeny-Ice , Makafui, Kobla Jnr & Yung Pabi shined with impressive performances with DJ Isaac Cool. Headline acts Epixode , Trigmatic, Akan, Manifest & Worlasi himself gave world-class performances backed by the Senku & Safoa Bands.

Already plans for Worlafest 2019 are set, with rumors of Sena Dagadu being the headline act. The vision is exciting & the inclusion of the artisans very laudable. Kudos to the organizers Creative Men & TIC Ghana. We look forward to 2019 with a lot of enthusiasm & hope for the creative arts industry.
