Fireboy announces joint EP with Lojay

Afrobeats singer, Fireboy DML has announced that he’s working on a joint extended play with his colleague, Lojay.

He made this known during an interview with The Beat 99.9 FM, Lagos.

“I’m working on a joint EP with Lojay. We have a very great relationship in the studio,” he said.

Fireboy, who recently released his eponymous fourth studio album, ‘Adedomala’, relished working with veteran singer Lagbaja on the song ‘Back N Forth’.

“Lagbaja is the most meticulous artiste I ever worked with. I wished he had taken his mask off but he wore it all through our time in the studio. I learnt a lot from him during the session,” he said.

Fireboy DML’s new single, “Everyday,” has a music video with a twist. In it, his girlfriend (played by Bloody Civilian) is upset after an argument and thinks he is boring.

To mend things, Fireboy DML ditches the traditional apology and instead writes her a song and whisks her away on a wild adventure crashing weddings.

Director TG Omori brings this playful plot to life, with Fireboy DML serenading his girlfriend with a love song, as they dance joyfully to soulful guitar riffs, amidst the wedding festivities.

Afrobeats star Fireboy DML recently sat a sit down with Billboard News where he talked about how he got interested in making music, his many notable collaborations with the likes of Blaqbonez, Jon Bellion, Jon Batiste, Jax Jones, Madonna and his most well-known collaboration Ed Sheeran on his most famous song “Peru.”

Fireboy DML Announces Album Release Date

Nigerian afrobeat star, Fireboy DML has announced the date for the release of his upcoming album.

According to Fireboy in a tweet posted on Wednesday July 6, 2022, the album “Playboy“, will be released on August 5th of this year.

“My third studio album “playboy” – out on 5th of August. available for pre-save now,” read the tweet.

Ahead of his album release, Fireboy DML is set to release a single off his pending album, ‘Bandana” which features his label mate, Asake, on July 8, 2022.
