Nigerian Afrobeat musician, Oxlade has claimed that he receives more love from Ghana than his home country.

Oxlade made known speaking on his decision to feature Sarkodie, a Ghanaian hip-hop legend on his debut album, “Oxlade from Africa.”

During his latest interview, the singer clarified his earlier posts on X where he said some “OGs” were boycotting and blackmailing him.

He explained that the posts were triggered by his dislike of people trying to play god in the Nigerian music industry.

“If I’m being honest with you, Ghana has shown me more love than Nigeria.

“I hate the mindset of people trying to play god. When they feel like they can determine your trajectory. Sometimes they feel I see them outside and I don’t greet them well.”

Olamide has released the music video for his track, “Uptown Disco,” The second single from his latest EP, “Ikigai / 生き甲斐, Vol. 1.” This upbeat track, featuring fellow YBNL stars, Asake and Fireboy DML, driven by energetic log drums.

“Uptown Disco” celebrates high energy, success, and living large. The lyrics reflect a party atmosphere, boasting about their achievements and lifestyle while encouraging listeners to enjoy the music and dance.

Popular Nigerian singer, Adekunle Gold, has taken to social media to appreciate rapper Olamide for accepting him into the YBNL music label.

Olamide launched the record label in 2012 after the release of his second studio album, ‘YBNL’.

Adekunle Gold, on the other hand, was signed to YBNL in 2015 and delivered his first album titled ‘Gold’.

He later exited the record label after the expiration of his contract.

However, sharing a cover of his debut album on X on Friday, Adekunle thanked Olamide for his role in his career growth.

“Thank you @olamide for giving that young graphic designer the chance to not only design the YBNL logo but to be a part of your family.”

Nigerian rap heavyweight Olamide surprised fans with a new project announcement just hours after his performance at Davido and Chioma‘s wedding. Titled “Ikigai,” the 7-track project translates to “reason for being” or “life’s purpose” in Japanese.

“Ikigai” marks Olamide’s 10th solo album and 15th project overall. The album boasts collaborations with both current and former YBNL associates. Fans can expect to hear YBNL stars Fireboy DML and Asake on track 3, “Uptown Disco.” The project also features a reunion with past YBNL members Pheelz, Young Jonn, and Lil Kesh on the closing track, “Synchro System.”

This news comes on the heels of Olamide’s successful 2023 album “Unruly,” which included hit songs like “Trumpet” featuring CKay, “New Religion” with Asake, and “Jinja.”

Ace Nigerian musician D’banj has appreciated his colleague, Olamide, for his generosity.

The singer disclosed that Olamide gifted him his latest song, ‘Koko’.

Taking to his X handle, D’banj wrote: “What does the Koko mean to you Since’04 and right now in 2024?
“‘Koko’ from my upcoming album out now!

“Big shoutout to my brother @Olamide Baddo LEE for blessing me with this jam and to the amazing producer @eskeezondbeat.”

The song is the second lead single from his forthcoming album to celebrate his 20 years on stage.

D’banj had previously disclosed that the first lead single ‘Since ’04’ was written by Peruzzi.

About a month after releasing the single “Wahala” with Olamide, CKay has released the accompanying music video. Directed by Ahmed Mosh, the visuals transport viewers to a beach-like setting.

There, CKay and Olamide link up with friends, basking in the good vibes and serenading their love interests.
