Nigerian superstars BNXN and Rema, have teamed up for the first time on their exciting new single, “Fi Kan We Kan,” released via EMPIRE. This track blends an infectious vibe with themes of perseverance and unity, making it the perfect soundtrack for celebration. Produced by Blaizebeats, the track is about paying what you owe when due.

BNXN kicks off the track with his signature sound, expressing his frustration over wasted time and energy on trivial matters. He reinforces his deep belief in loyalty and brotherhood, stating, “If you don’t say you’re for me, it’s no guarantee, I no fit say you be my padi.” This sets the tone for the track, building momentum before Rema delivers a high-energy verse that takes the song to another level.

“Fi Kan We Kan” is set to be a major hit this holiday season, with an accompanying music video directed by award-winning filmmaker Meji Alabi slated to follow.

This new release comes on the heels of Bnxn’s previous single, “Phenomena,” which generated significant buzz after his unexpected joint album with Ruger, RnB. That project has 256 million streams to date, peaked at No. 3 on Apple Music Top Albums chart, and was announced to the fans as a surprise with an interview on Billboard News. Bnxn went on to perform at Toronto’s History and New York City’s Gramercy Theater in addition to festivals and performances across Europe, Australia, and America throughout the year. Bnxn has over 2.1 billion career streams to date and collaborations with Wizkid, Stefflon Don, Olamide, Blk Odyssy, Burna Boy, D Smoke, and more.

He has also graced the cover of Teen Vogue and was featured on Grammy.com’s list of Rising Afrobeats Artists. Both Bnxn and Rema have multiple No. 1 singles and have sold-out shows across various countries. “Fi Kan We Kan” exemplifies why they are considered some of the most respected songwriters of recent years.

EA Sports has once again merged football and music, unveiling the soundtrack for the 25th edition of EA Football Club. This year, the spotlight is on Afrobeats, with Nigerian music stars Rema, Shallipopi, and Omah Lay joining a global lineup of artists. The football video game is set to launch on September 27, 2024.

Rema’s hit single “Benin Boys” featuring Shallipopi, and Omah Lay’s chart-topping track “Moving,” are among the tracks showcasing the growing global influence of African music in this year’s EA Football Club soundtrack. This marks Rema’s second appearance on the soundtrack, following his debut on FIFA 21’s VOLTA Football soundtrack with “Beamer,” alongside other Nigerian artists like Fireboy DML, Burna Boy, Ms Banks, and Nnena.

Adding to the Afrobeats representation is UK-based Nigerian artist Obongjayar, with his 2022 hit “Tomorrow Man.”

The soundtrack includes over 100 songs from a range of international artists including British artist Self Esteem’s “Big Man,” featuring South Africa’s Moonchild Sanelly, Gambian-British rapper Pa Salieu’s “Allergy,” and British-Nigerian jazz collective Ezra Collective’s “God Gave Me Feet for Dancing,” featuring Yazmin Lacey.https://www.instagram.com/p/C_-3smIPfHK/embed/?cr=1&v=14&wp=540&rd=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.bellanaija.com&rp=%2F2024%2F09%2Frema-omahlay-shallipopi-eafc25-soundtrack%2F#%7B%22ci%22%3A0%2C%22os%22%3A6671.699999988079%2C%22ls%22%3A4172.4000000059605%2C%22le%22%3A5556.5%7D

The overall theme of “Azaman” is wealth, luxury, and success.
Popular singer, Divine Ikubor, aka Rema, has harped on the need for Nigerian artists to maintain Afrobeats’ culture…

Popular singer, Divine Ikubor, aka Rema, has harped on the need for Nigerian artists to maintain Afrobeats’ culture to ensure the country’s dominance of the African music scene.

According to reports, there has been a heavy infiltration of the South African genre, amapiano into the Nigerian music industry in recent years.

In an interview with Apple Music, Rema admitted that amapiano is a great genre but maintained that Nigerian artists must sustain Afrobeats’ influence on the continent.

He noted that his recently released sophomore album, ‘HeIs,’ was heavily inspired by afrobeats legends like Don Jazzy and the Mo’hits crew, 2Baba, Olamide, P-Square and Timaya.

“I had to go back [while creating my new album]. I took a lot of inspiration from Mo’hits. When a Mo’hits song comes in for the first four seconds, you already know it’s a Mo’hits song. Don Jazzy just goes crazy on the beat,” he said.

“The times when Olamide used to drop crazy songs, he still drops crazy songs. At the time when an Olamide song comes on you still know. P-Square, 2Face or Timaya. There used to be times when the beat just…

“Amapiano is great, it is fire but there used to be a time when Afrobeats production used to be so insane that nothing could survive it in the clubs in Africa. I’m not saying we’ve lost that but I’m just saying that we need more of that. I don’t want us to go too far away from that. We need to sustain it.”

Afrobeats singer, Divine Ikubor, aka Rema, has said that the Nigerian music industry is dominated by “fake people.”

Speaking at the listening party of his sophomore album, ‘He Is,’ in Lagos on Thursday night, the ‘Another Banger’ crooner explained that the “fake” nature of the Nigerian music industry inspired one of the songs on the album ‘Now I Know.’

Rema said, “There are a lot of fake people in the [music] industry, the industry is fake. So when people come and say ‘Yo, I love this guy,’ nobody should come at them that they’re chasing clout. No, it’s real.

“When somebody comes out it’s because they’ve seen someone that’s real among everybody in the crazy industry mixed with both the fake and the real. And that’s what this song [‘Now I Know] is all about. Now I know who dey for me. All those I loved turned enemies. Now I know who dey for me. All those I trust turned enemies.”

Rema’s 11-track sophomore album arrived Thursday via Mavin Records, with guest features from Shallipopi and Odumodublvck.

Famous Nigerian singer Divine Ikubor, aka Rema, has said that it’s insulting for anyone to say he’s not on the same level as Wizkid, Davido and Burna Boy.

The singer stated this while addressing the backlash that trailed his controversial tweet; “No more Big 3 there’s now a Big 4” in his new song ‘Hehehe,’ which was released via Mavin Global Holdings on Monday morning.

Burna Boy, Wizkid and Davido are widely regarded as the biggest Nigerian/Afrobeats artists in the world and are jointly referred to as the “Big 3.”

But Rema has been insisting that he is now on the Afrobeats megastar list, making it a “Big 4.”

He sings: “No more big 3, there’s now a big 4. People go para but what for? Dem go say I don’t deserve it but that is an insult.”
