Born Chris Fonye, Hydraulix Fonye as he is popularly known entered the music industry in the year 2011, as a producer and songwriter. He started with beat making and later went on to study sound engineering. All he wanted to do was to be one of the best producers and songwriters in Ghana. After 5 years of being a producer and working with the likes of VVIP, Stonebwoy, Kontihene and also produced the Ghana’s most beautiful season 10 theme song; he decided to finally start releasing his own songs. In November 2016, he released his debut single PLAN B. He followed with another single FREEDOM which featured a lot of other African artists. The idea behind FREEDOM was to create a world peace song that was unlike the cliché ones out there, he simply wanted to create a peace song that can be played anywhere. His 3rd song LOVE AND SEX, was released on February 7th, this year.
When asked what inspires him, he first acknowledged God. He stated that ever since he started working, whenever he involved God, it came out successful. This pushed him to work harder. Also, he draws great inspiration from the happenings in his environment.
Being in the music industry for 5 years, he has noticed that a lot has changed in the Ghanaian music industry and he is willing to adapt to the evolving nature of the music industry. He also added that he’s looking forward to release an album soon. Ghanaians should expect more good music from him he said.
